Yesterday, Athanasy has released its debut album, "The Sick Die by Sunrise". I have contributed with vocals, lyrics and album concept overall. My friend E.R. (also from Malade) wrote all the songs and handled all instruments. We play melodic death-doom metal and shoegaze (perhaps the first death-doomgaze band ever? 🤔). If you are into bands like My Dying Bride, Paradise Lost or Slowdive, I believe you are going to enjoy our songs! Lyrically, "The Sick Die by Sunrise" is a concept album, following the last days in the life of a terminally ill, unnamed protagonist. It invites the listener to reflect on his own irrevocable demise in a different perspective: if you are comitted by a sudden illness that shall cut the rope of your life prematurely, which way would you like to go? Would you still be willing to endure all the pain and go until the very end? Or would you like to have the chance to say no to further suffering, when all hope is gone, and choose the moment when you want to
